Job Description: Our client is looking for a Black Utilities & HVAC Package Owner / Project Engineer from initial specifications, procurement, and design, up to and including handover to the commissioning and qualification team for this important capital project.
The Black Utilities and HVAC Package Owner / Project Engineer will perform the following tasks as part of the role:
- Project Planning and Scheduling : Develop and manage the schedule for the delivery of all aspects of the assigned package.
- Execution Strategy: Create and implement an execution strategy to ensure their package scope is delivered in a controlled and well-communicated manner.
- Coordination and Communication: Facilitate communication between engineering teams, user
- requirements, and other stakeholders to ensure alignment and smooth project progression.
- Cost and Deadline Management : Prepare cost estimates and monitor adherence to deadlines and budgets.
- Resource Management: Ensure resources and provisions are in place for upcoming Factory Acceptance Tests (FAT) and Site Acceptance Tests (SAT).
- Technical Expertise: Utilize extensive experience in site engineering & project management, as well as having an in-depth understanding of the Black Utility and HVAC equipment/systems and the associated functionality within the facility. It is expected that the package owner/Project Engineer will also be the SME/POC for process-related queries associated with their package scope
The Package Owner / Project Engineer will be responsible for the following essential duties and responsibilities:
- Responsible for oversight of all aspects of project delivery and fit-out, including ensuring resources, both staff and contractor, are available to support said delivery.
- Support the PM Lead in reporting progress on a daily/weekly basis (as required).
- Provide Contractor timesheets to the PM lead for weekly approval.
- Provide functional expertise for incoming Black Utility and HVAC equipment/systems, ensuring timely execution in accordance with project expectations and deliverables
- Document and follow site project procedural standards and controls to govern project execution.
- Ensure that project scope is executed in a manner that is compliant with program milestones, quality/safety standards, and budget plans. Escalate issues appropriately in case of unforeseen variation and suggest potential mitigation measures
- Ensure effective technical clarity and process coordination with all project stakeholders.
- Drive to a high standard of quality and safety at all stages within the project life cycle to ensure full compliance and zero safety observations.
- Perform all duties in accordance with Good Manufacturing Practice (GMP) requirements, Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), and controlled documents.
- Be flexible to take on additional tasks and responsibilities at the discretion of the PM Lead.
