About the Role:
This CNC Manager position oversees second shift operations with a strong focus on CNC programming, production leadership, and precision machining. The role requires hands-on expertise in CNC setup, tooling, programming, workflow optimization, and team supervision. This position is ideal for candidates seeking CNC Manager, CNC Supervisor, or Manufacturing Manager opportunities in a high paced machining environment.

Responsibilities:

  • Lead and supervise second shift machining operations to meet quality, safety, and productivity targets.
  • Create, edit, and optimize CNC programs to support efficient production and reduce cycle times.
  • Oversee machine setup, tooling selection, process troubleshooting, and job sequencing.
  • Train and mentor machinists, operators, and technicians to improve technical capability and performance.
  • Monitor workflow, address production issues, and coordinate with other shifts to maintain continuity.
  • Ensure adherence to quality standards, inspection procedures, and machining best practices.
  • Maintain equipment performance by scheduling maintenance and addressing machine downtime.
  • Implement continuous improvement initiatives focused on lean manufacturing and process optimization.

Qualifications:

  • Proven experience as a CNC Manager, CNC Supervisor, or Lead CNC Programmer.
  • Strong proficiency in CNC programming using common platforms such as Mastercam, Haas, Fanuc, or similar controls.
  • Hands-on background in CNC machining, tooling, setups, and troubleshooting.
  • Demonstrated leadership skills with the ability to guide and coach production teams.
  • Strong understanding of GD and T, blueprint reading, and precision measurement tools.
  • Ability to work second shift, typically 10 a.m. to 8 p.m.
  • Experience in fast paced manufacturing or machining environments.
  • Strong problem solving, communication, and organizational skills.

Desired Qualifications:

  • Experience implementing lean manufacturing, 5S, or continuous improvement programs.
  • Familiarity with multi axis machining, advanced toolpath strategies, or complex part programming.
  • Background with ERP or manufacturing software to manage scheduling and workflow.
  • Prior experience improving cycle times, tooling efficiency, or machining processes.
