Job Description

MHG Hotel Group is seeking a Construction Superintendent to be part of our construction team. The construction superintendent’s purpose is to coordinate all site construction activities, supervise all field personnel to successfully complete projects on schedule and within budget, while ensuring adherence to plans, specifications, and industry standards. As a Construction Superintendent you will:

  • Coordinate and supervise all construction activities and staff.
  • Set up and maintain an organized/clean job site (including office trailer)
  • Achieve completion of the project on schedule, within budget, with quality workmanship that conforms to plans and specs.
  • Facilitate cost control measures related to changes in the project.
  • Promote and ensure jobsite safety!
  • Maintain weekly meetings, schedule, and project the upcoming three weeks' expectations.
  • Walk the entire jobsite and buildings daily.
  • Maintain positive relationships with employees, customers, contractors, suppliers, and coworkers.
  • Provide daily reports and weekly vendor/subs meeting minutes.
  • Produce SWPPPs reports weekly!
Qualifications for the Construction Superintendent:
  • Degree in construction management preferred.
  • Computer Literacy: Use of Procore, Bluebeam, plus Microsoft Excel, Office, and Projects
  • Working knowledge in the Microsoft Windows environment, software applications, and spreadsheet creation/maintenance
  • Ability to prioritize effectively and recognize/address work related issues as they occur.
  • Ability to read and comprehend blueprints and shop drawings.
  • Ability to comprehend and communicate budget impacts based on decision making at the job site.
  • This position will require you to travel on a regular basis.
  • Desired Experience for the Construction Superintendent:
  • Minimum of 10 years hands-on field experience with multifamily construction, self-storage or hotel construction including slab on grade/wood framed construction, along with major site development.
  • Minimum of 5 years' experience with construction projects more than $10 million

This role requires standing, walking, or sitting for long periods of time, or entire shift. Read and visually verify information in a variety of formats (i.e., small print). Move, lift, carry, push, pull and place objects weighing less than 50 pounds without assistance and heavier lifting or movement tasks with assistance. Move up and down stairs, service ramps, and/or ladders. Reach overhead and below knees, including bending, twisting, pulling, and stooping. Perform other reasonable job duties as requested by Supervisors.
