Responsibilities
- Monitor control room operations and coordinate with crews to maximize productivity and minimize downtime.
- Oversee the operation of conveyors, safety devices, and material flow, taking corrective action as needed.
- Ensure all work is performed according to established procedures and quality standards, including accurate sample collection.
- Maintain open and effective communication with management, supervisors, vessel crew, vessel agents, suppliers, and surveyors to meet customer requirements.
- Monitor and manage the impact of weather on cargo, production labor, and environmental conditions.
- Ensure cargo weights and load order requirements are followed, and collect samples as required.
- Comply with all operational directives and company policies.
Qualifications
- Minimum of 5 years’ experience in a related role.
- High school diploma or equivalent (preferred).
- Ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines.
- Adaptability to changes in processes and procedures.
- Strong team-oriented mindset and effective communication skills.
- Excellent time management, problem-solving, and critical thinking abilities.
- Demonstrated leadership capability and initiative.
Work Environment & Physical Requirements
- Exposure to all weather conditions, including hot, cold, and rainy environments.
- Work at varying elevations and in moderate-to-high noise levels.
- Job site includes light to heavy equipment, vehicles, tools, and communication devices.
- Physical activities include climbing, balancing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, crawling, reaching, standing, walking, pushing, pulling, lifting, typing, grasping, talking, hearing, seeing, and repetitive motions.
- Must wear personal protective equipment (PPE) such as hard hat, safety glasses, safety vests, gloves, masks/respirators (when necessary), steel toe boots, and other required gear.
