GIS Research Analyst (Contract) Location: Henderson, CO (Hybrid: Tues–Thurs onsite, Mon/Fri remote)
Hourly Pay Rate: $59.00/hr.
Potential for Permanent Hire: Yes, based on business needs
Position Summary We are seeking a detail-oriented
GIS Research Analyst to support gas and electric extension projects. This role is primarily focused on GIS-based research to identify new participants in utility extensions and includes administrative and reporting responsibilities.
The ideal candidate is a self-starter with 2–5 years of GIS experience, comfortable working independently, and familiar with tools such as SAP and Excel.
Key Responsibilities - Conduct GIS research to identify potential new customers for gas/electric line extensions
- Process RFPs (Request for Payment) for customer refunds, including entry into SAP
- Handle returned checks (locating updated addresses or coordinating with AP Accounting)
- Run and analyze monthly reports to review, update, or close 150+ extension-related accounts
- Document findings and updates in the GIS and ETP systems
- Respond to occasional ad hoc inquiries related to gas/electric extensions
Daily Activities - Daily GIS research and mapping analysis
- Monthly reporting and account reconciliation
- Creating and submitting RFPs
- Entering updates into GIS/ETP systems
- Minimal external customer contact; primarily internal collaboration
Team & Work Environment - Work Style: Individual contributor; not a team-based or collaborative environment
- Support: Occasional interaction with internal stakeholders (e.g., Accounting, Engineering)
- Interview Panel: May include supervisors, managers, and future team leads
Work Schedule & Conditions - Hybrid Schedule:
- Onsite: Tuesday–Thursday at Henderson, CO office
- Remote: Monday & Friday
- Flexible Hours: e.g., 6:00 AM–2:30 PM or 7:00 AM–4:30 PM
- Work Type: Standard office/computer-based role
Candidate Requirements
Required:
- GIS experience (2–5 years)
Strongly Preferred:
- Excel (pivot tables, charts, data analysis)
- SAP (especially for RFP creation/processing)
- Nice to Have:
- Familiarity with ETP systems
