About the Job:

Fast paced and growing Medical practice is seeking an additional Billing clerk. Medical terminology required and previous billing and EMR experience is a plus. Pay will be based on experience.

This is NOT a remote position. Hours are Monday - Friday with paid holidays and excellent benefits. Health, dental, vision and life insurance are available after introductory/training period.

Patient and insurance company interaction is daily, so a friendly, positive attitude is required plus the ability to work in a team environment.

 
The billing clerk is responsible for generating revenue by:

• Processing claims.
• Establishing payment arrangements.
• Collecting on delinquent accounts and communicating with patients regarding billing questions.
• Post Insurance remits to appropriate account.
• Enter in diagnoses and charges to appropriate account using current coding protocols.
• Post patient payments to appropriate account.
• Following up on accounts to see why insurance has not processed the claim for payment, why a charge was denied, etc.
• Other duties as assigned.
