Job Description
A packer is responsible for preparing products for shipment by organizing, packing, and labeling them securely . Key duties include interpreting orders, conducting quality checks, using packing materials and equipment, maintaining a clean and safe workspace, and keeping accurate records of shipments.
Core responsibilities
- Order fulfillment:
- Picking and arranging products according to order specifications and stacking them securely in containers.
- Packaging and labeling:
- Using proper packaging materials, sealing boxes, and applying accurate labels with correct shipping information.
- Quality control:
- Inspecting products for defects and ensuring all packages are sealed and ready for shipment.
- Record keeping:
- Accurately logging shipment details, orders, and inventory using a variety of methods, which may include scanners.
- Equipment operation:
- Using machinery like pallet wrappers, pallet jacks, or forklifts to move and prepare shipments.
- Workplace maintenance:
- Keeping the packing area clean, organized, and safe by following all safety protocols
