Job Description
Sales - Build Specialist & Retail Sales Executive
This is what you’ve been looking for — come work for one of the most respected performance parts manufacturers in motorsports. Surround yourself with supercars like the Lamborghini Huracán, Nissan GT-R, and Audi R8 in a role that is as fast-paced as the vehicles we build.
AMS Performance is a rapidly growing, medium-sized business with a family-owned feel, located in the western suburbs of Chicago. We specialize in high-performance aftermarket parts and complete solutions for turbocharged vehicles, driven by extensive research, development, and real-world testing. We never compromise on quality, performance, or customer experience.
This role is ideal for a true automotive enthusiast — someone who is passionate about vehicle performance and genuinely enjoys helping customers achieve their build goals so they can fully enjoy their car.
Job Mission
This sales role is a front-row seat in the world of high-performance automotive builds. As a Build Specialist & Retail Sales Executive, you’ll work directly with passionate enthusiasts and customers who trust AMS to deliver exceptional results. You are the driving force behind turning ideas, goals, and horsepower targets into real-world builds.
You own the customer relationship from first conversation through completion and beyond, combining deep performance knowledge, high-energy sales execution, and top-tier customer experience. You are motivated to close deals, but equally motivated by seeing customers thrilled with the outcome and proud of their build.
This is a highly technical role for someone who loves understanding how performance systems work together and enjoys sharing that knowledge with others. You assess goals, think holistically about the platform, and confidently guide customers toward solutions that balance performance, drivability, and reliability.
Beyond handling inbound sales, this role is well suited for someone who is naturally proactive and comfortable creating their own opportunities. You’ll engage enthusiast communities, contribute knowledgeable and helpful content, and build relationships through platforms such as Facebook groups. Success in this role comes from technical credibility, consistent follow-through, and a genuine interest in helping customers make informed decisions about their build.

- Communication – Clearly explains complex technical concepts verbally and in writing.
- Organization & Time Management – Effectively manages multiple builds, customers, and priorities.
- Calm Under Pressure – Maintains professionalism during challenges, delays, or changing build requirements.
