Position Overview: We are seeking a dynamic Staff Accountant to join our growing finance team following an exciting department transformation. This role offers the opportunity to make an immediate impact while working alongside dedicated finance professionals in a collaborative environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Drive monthly close process efficiency and accuracy
- Perform comprehensive balance sheet and general ledger reconciliations
- Manage accounts receivable functions and build strong customer relationships
- Handle invoicing and billing operations with attention to detail
- Support innovative rental accounting operations for student housing
- Collaborate with both current Accounting Manager and incoming Finance Manager on strategic projects
- Contribute to general accounting operations and financial reporting initiatives
Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance preferred
- Strong foundation in GAAP principles and practical applications
- Hands-on experience with month-end close processes and reconciliations
- Proficiency with Financial Edge ERP system (or similar accounting software)
- Proven accounts receivable and invoicing experience
- Exceptional analytical and problem-solving abilities
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience in higher education or student housing accounting
- Knowledge of rental/property accounting principles
- Track record of supporting management teams in fast-paced environments
