Merion Landscape Services LLC is a dynamic company that plays a crucial role in keeping the world moving. We are currently seeking a Small Engine 2-Cycle Mechanic to join our team. This role is integral to maintaining our fleet of vehicles that are vital to our operations. The successful candidate will have experience with a variety of small engines, including gas and diesel, and will be responsible for performing preventative maintenance, troubleshooting, and repairing engines. This role requires a self-motivated individual who can work independently and manage a busy work schedule.
Responsibilities
- Perform welding and fabrication work for vehicles and equipment
- Schedule repair and maintenance through work center supervisors
- Inspect, diagnose, and repair small engines used in a variety of applications
- Perform scheduled maintenance services such as oil changes, tune-ups, and tire rotations
- Clean, lubricate, and adjust parts and components as necessary
- Test run repaired engines to ensure proper functioning
- Keep accurate records of all repairs and maintenance performed
- Order replacement parts and supplies as needed
- Maintain a clean and organized work area
- Follow all safety procedures and guidelines
- Comply with all local, state, and federal regulations
- Assist customers with questions or concerns related to their small engines
- Train new employees on proper repair and maintenance techniques
- Stay up-to-date on the latest industry news and developments
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent
- 2+ years of experience as a small engine mechanic
- Proficient in the use of hand tools, power tools, and diagnostic equipment
- Strong mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting skills
- Excellent customer service skills
- Ability to lift heavy objects and work in uncomfortable positions
- Must have a current and valid driver’s license
- Ability to speak Spanish is a plus, but not required
- Associate’s degree in Small Engine Mechanics (preferred)
- Certification from a nationally recognized organization, such as the National Institute for Automotive Service Excellence (ASE) (preferred)
- Working knowledge of lawn mowers, generators, and other small engines (preferred)
