Job Description

Merion Landscape Services LLC is a dynamic company that plays a crucial role in keeping the world moving. We are currently seeking a Small Engine 2-Cycle Mechanic to join our team. This role is integral to maintaining our fleet of vehicles that are vital to our operations. The successful candidate will have experience with a variety of small engines, including gas and diesel, and will be responsible for performing preventative maintenance, troubleshooting, and repairing engines. This role requires a self-motivated individual who can work independently and manage a busy work schedule.

Responsibilities

  • Perform welding and fabrication work for vehicles and equipment
  • Schedule repair and maintenance through work center supervisors
  • Inspect, diagnose, and repair small engines used in a variety of applications
  • Perform scheduled maintenance services such as oil changes, tune-ups, and tire rotations
  • Clean, lubricate, and adjust parts and components as necessary
  • Test run repaired engines to ensure proper functioning
  • Keep accurate records of all repairs and maintenance performed
  • Order replacement parts and supplies as needed
  • Maintain a clean and organized work area
  • Follow all safety procedures and guidelines
  • Comply with all local, state, and federal regulations
  • Assist customers with questions or concerns related to their small engines
  • Train new employees on proper repair and maintenance techniques
  • Stay up-to-date on the latest industry news and developments

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • 2+ years of experience as a small engine mechanic
  • Proficient in the use of hand tools, power tools, and diagnostic equipment
  • Strong mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting skills
  • Excellent customer service skills
  • Ability to lift heavy objects and work in uncomfortable positions
  • Must have a current and valid driver’s license
  • Ability to speak Spanish is a plus, but not required
  • Associate’s degree in Small Engine Mechanics (preferred)
  • Certification from a nationally recognized organization, such as the National Institute for Automotive Service Excellence (ASE) (preferred)
  • Working knowledge of lawn mowers, generators, and other small engines (preferred)
