Job Summary:
VectorUSA is focused on providing cybersecurity solutions, and they are seeking a SOC Analyst I to join their team. This entry-level role involves monitoring systems and networks, analyzing security events, and responding to incidents to improve security postures.
Responsibilities:
• Monitor and analyze security alerts from SIEM, EDR, and other security tools.
• Perform initial triage of security incidents and escalate when necessary.
• Investigate suspicious activity, phishing emails, and potential threats.
• Create and maintain incident documentation and tracking records.
• Assist in threat intelligence research and correlation of data.
• Support the implementation and enforcement of security policies and procedures.
• Collaborate with IT teams and senior analysts to improve threat detection and response.
• Participate in shift rotations and on-call schedules if required.
Qualifications:
Required:
• 1+ years of experience in IT support, helpdesk, networking, or a security-related field (internships or school projects may qualify).
• Basic understanding of cybersecurity principles, vulnerabilities, malware, and common attack vectors.
• Familiarity with tools such as SIEM (e.g., Splunk, Sentinel), EDR, firewalls, and ticketing systems.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Preferred:
• CompTIA Security+, Network+, or other entry-level security certifications.
• Hands-on experience with Windows/Linux systems.
• Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Cybersecurity, Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field.
• Exposure to frameworks such as MITRE ATT&CK, NIST, or CIS Controls.
