General Summary
Performs a variety of unskilled and manual tasks relating to the operation of plant equipment and vehicles including loading, unloading, transfer and relocation of materials. Also cleans, washes, and performs minor repairs to equipment, vehicles, machines, facilities and premises.
Principal Duties and Accountabilities (*Essential Functions)
Sacks cement.
Cleans plant spillage in all areas of the plant.
Operates equipment and machinery such as bobcat, front-end loader, dump truck and vac. to clean up specified areas.
Operates various hand and power tools such as air hammer, air chipping gun, shovel, hoes, screw drivers and brooms.
Operates machinery such as industrial vacuum cleaners, conveyors, ball screeners and cement dust collectors.
Unloads rail cars as required.
Stacks and sorts supplies used in plant, shop, office or vehicular activities.
Troubleshoot and maintain dust collectors as needed.
Dumps, sorts, and replaces balls in mills as assigned.
Responsible for immediately reporting all unsafe conditions to supervisor. Required to maintain equipment safety check lists and plant log.

Skills and Experience
Candidates must be able to work indoors and outdoors. Environment may be humid, hot, and loud. Exposure to moving mechanical parts, dust, seasonal temperature extremes, and rough, uneven surfaces/terrain will occur.
Successful completion of high school or GED certificate is preferred.
Six months experience in the operation of heavy vehicles and equipment such as bobcat, front-end loader, forklift and dump truck preferred but not required.
Knowledge of cement plant or related construction site operations is preferred but not required.
Must be capable of reading, understanding and obeying all safety rules and regulations, equipment operating instructions and danger notices.
Must have mechanical aptitude.
Must communicate effectively using appropriate interpersonal skills.
Must communicate effectively verbally and in writing.
Must possess good analytical and troubleshooting skills.
Must supervise own work and be self-motivated.
Must have an excellent safety record and be safety conscious at all times
Must possess steady work history.
