This position is posted by Jobgether on behalf of a partner company. We are currently looking for a WordPress Full-Stack Developer in the United States.
This role offers an exciting opportunity to contribute to the development and maintenance of high-performing, scalable WordPress websites that power core business functions. You will work on a collaborative, globally distributed team, building eCommerce solutions, integrating multiple payment gateways, and leveraging modern PHP and JavaScript practices. The ideal candidate will be curious, solution-oriented, and capable of troubleshooting complex issues across various web technologies. You will participate in all stages of the development lifecycle, from designing and implementing features to testing, code review, and performance optimization. This position allows flexibility with fully remote work while providing opportunities to expand technical skills, explore DevOps responsibilities, and contribute to meaningful projects in a fast-paced, innovation-driven environment.
Accountabilities:
· Develop, maintain, and optimize WordPress websites, including eCommerce functionality and integrations with payment gateways.
· Write clean, efficient code using modern PHP (OOP, autoloading, namespacing) and JavaScript (vanilla, jQuery, ES6) practices.
· Troubleshoot and resolve payment, subscription, and technical issues across websites.
· Collaborate with the team on feature planning, code reviews, testing, and deployment.
· Extend functionality and optimize performance, ensuring security and reliability of codebase.
· Support ancillary technologies, DevOps tasks, and WP-CLI/Linux scripting as needed.
· Stay current with emerging tools, AI-driven development solutions, and best practices.
Requirements
· Strong experience with WordPress architecture and development, including custom themes and plugins.
· Proficient in PHP, JavaScript, HTML, CSS/SCSS, and MySQL; experience with Composer, NPM, and version control (Git/GitHub).
· Familiarity with eCommerce solutions, payment gateways (Stripe, PayPal), and 3rd-party API integrations.
· Ability to write performant SQL queries and troubleshoot complex technical issues.
· Experience with testing, code reviews, and CI/CD pipelines; familiarity with Gutenberg block development is a plus.
· Curiosity-driven, detail-oriented, and capable of learning quickly in a collaborative environment.
· Comfortable leveraging AI tools for development tasks (e.g., Copilot, Claude Code, Cursor).
